Exactech and UF: Committed to Education, Innovation and Health Care

Introducing the Exactech Arena at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center

Exactech and the University of Florida (UF) are proud to recognize and expand their long-standing partnership through naming of the Exactech Arena at UF’s Stephen C. O’Connell Center, an iconic sports and entertainment complex on UF's campus. Its arena is home to championship athletic teams including Florida Gators basketball, gymnastics and volleyball. The venue also hosts many other sporting, entertainment, academic and business activities. The naming rights sponsorship reflects the deeply rooted relationship between two Gainesville, Fla.-based organizations with shared goals of education, innovation and health care. This sponsorship was instrumental in helping UF complete the ambitious $64.5 million renovation of the facility that re-opened in December 2016. View Exactech's news release.

About Exactech

Exactech was founded in 1985 by orthopaedic surgeon Bill Petty, MD, biomedical engineer Gary Miller, PhD, and organizational culture advocate Betty Petty, MA. While faculty and research colleagues at the UF College of Medicine’s Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Petty and Miller collaborated with several orthopaedic device companies and thought they saw some things the industry could do differently, and better. They wanted to focus their vision on creating products and services that would make a difference in the quality of care provided to patients suffering from joint diseases like arthritis.

With global headquarters in Gainesville,  Exactech now has more than 700 employees who design, develop, manufacture and distribute innovative orthopaedic implants and surgical instrumentation that are distributed in more than 35 countries. Read more about who we are and what we do.
